Introducing environmentally friendly mobility technology to the younger generation, PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) collaborates with Jakarta Good Guide (JGG) through a series of activities called the Honda e:Technology City Tour.
The activity involves touring the city of Jakarta to visit historical sites using Honda e:Technology products, while participants are also introduced to Honda’s electric vehicle technology products.
“The Honda e:Technology activity is designed for the Millennial and Gen Z generations. As we know, this generation are the users of electrification technology in the future. Based on surveys, this generation enjoys traveling to explore local historical sites over weekends,” said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of HPM.
Carrying the theme “Past Meet The Future,” the Past concept is represented by historical sites, while the Future concept is represented by the environmentally friendly technology offered.
“Created to preserve the environment for enjoyment by future generations, we believe this activity will be an attractive historical location because it combines history, technology, and culinary delights in an environmentally friendly concept. We also hope that this event will be a good means to introduce Honda’s electrification, especially targeting young people who will be users of this technology in the future,” he added.
Honda e:Technology City Tour activity involves four Honda electric vehicles, including two units of Honda e, one unit of All New Honda Accord RS e:HEV, and one unit of All New Honda CR-V RS e:HEV.
“Pure electric Honda e cars are not sold in Indonesia. But we want to introduce this technology to the younger generation, in line with our global mission that by 2040, 100% of our cars will be electric. For the All New Honda Accord RS e:HEV and All New Honda CR-V RS e:HEV, these hybrid cars are very environmentally friendly, which is why we use them in the Honda e:Technology City Tour activities. As you know, for city use, our hybrid cars mostly use their electric motors,” said Billy.
Participants in the city tour activities, exploring historical sites and culinary delights in Jakarta, have the opportunity to experience all of the Honda electric vehicles.
“All participants can experience the Honda electric vehicles provided. There will be a switch in the middle for participants to experience the technology of each car. So participants will not only be entertained, but also gain knowledge,” said Yulian Karfili, Communication Strategy Sub-Division of HPM.
During the activities of exploring historical sites in Jakarta, there is also the Honda N-Van EV Prototype and Honda LiB-AID E500 that participants can directly explore.
As part of their research, Honda has conducted road tests using the Honda N-Van Prototype in collaboration with Pertamina, with a total distance of 8,375 km covering the Jakarta, Bekasi, Cikarang, and Bandung areas.
This model is also used as a logistics vehicle for spare parts delivery to various Honda dealers in the Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, Depok, and Cibubur areas, covering a total distance of 2,034 km.
Honda has also collaborated with the University of Indonesia by providing the Honda e as a means of transportation on campus, which has been tried by more than 1,300 people over a period of 6 months.
The Honda e:Technology City Tour will take place from March to July 2024, offering three different route options.
