Pohuwato – A man with the initials MA in Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo, daringly took his own wife’s life. Not only his wife, the 30-year-old man also assaulted a man with the initials RS (32) who was suspected of being his wife’s lover until he was critically injured.

The Head of Criminal Investigation of Pohuwato Resort Police, Inspector Faisal Ariyoga Anastasius Harianja, said that the act of assault was carried out by the perpetrator MA allegedly because of the emotional affair between his wife, with the initials NL (25), and the victim RS.
“The initial suspicion of the cause of this assault occurred because the perpetrator was jealous of his wife’s alleged affair with the man RS,” said Inspector Faisal to reporters on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

He explained that the assault took place when the perpetrator caught his wife chatting with RS. Starting from that jealousy, the perpetrator MA then took a kitchen knife at his home and went to the man RS in North Marisa Village, Marisa District, Pohuwato Regency.
“On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, around 18.50 WITA, the perpetrator went to meet his wife’s lover in North Marisa Village, where it was known that RS often hung out at that location,” said Faisal.

Upon arrival at the location, Faisal said, the perpetrator immediately took a stone and hit the sleeping victim’s head. Not stopping there, the perpetrator then took out a knife and stabbed the victim twice in the chest and abdomen.
“So, the victim was found sleeping soundly and was hit with a stone once on the forehead, after that the perpetrator took out a knife and stabbed the victim RS twice in the abdomen and chest,” he explained.
After stabbing RS, said Faisal, the perpetrator then returned to his home in West Buntulia Village, Duhiadaa District, and met his sleeping wife. There, the perpetrator also recklessly assaulted his wife by repeatedly stabbing her with a knife until she died.
“The perpetrator, without hesitation, upon arriving home, immediately stabbed his wife multiple times until she died,” he revealed.
Faisal mentioned that after the stabbing, the perpetrator then went to the police station and surrendered himself. Meanwhile, the wife LN passed away. Meanwhile, the man RS is still under intensive care at the hospital.
In the initial examination results, the perpetrator admitted to being jealous because his wife was having an affair with RS. Evidence of the affair was discovered from the intimate chats between the two victims.
“The initial suspicion motive is related to love problems. The perpetrator saw the content of his wife and lover’s chat,” he explained
“The perpetrator has been detained after surrendering himself at the Pohuwato Police Resort, and while the case is still being investigated,” he concluded.
