Through a video conference for the inauguration of renewable energy projects in 15 provinces and the expansion of oil production in East Java, he urged officials to work efficiently, offer excellent service, and maintain clean management practices.
The President also firmly warned against wasteful spending and financial leakages that could potentially lead to corruption, stating that addressing these issues would significantly bolster Indonesia’s economy towards a just and prosperous society. He stressed the importance of eradicating corruption, curbing waste, and preventing leakages to accelerate economic growth, enhance people’s welfare, and propel Indonesia forward as a modern and prosperous nation.
Additionally, President Widodo highlighted reports indicating ample reserves of oil and natural gas in Indonesia, underscoring the significance of renewable energy, specifically solar power, for the country’s future. He elaborated on how solar energy could pave the way for energy self-sufficiency in various regions, offering a promising outlook for Indonesia’s bright future.
Furthermore, the President reiterated his administration’s dedication to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2060, expressing confidence in Indonesia’s ability to lead the global energy transition. He believed that Indonesia had the potential to be among the trailblazers in achieving net-zero emissions on schedule, positioning the nation as a frontrunner in sustainability endeavors and renewable energy undertakings.
