Prabowo: Indonesia Towards Net-Zero Emissions Target

President Prabowo Subianto is confident in Indonesia’s ability to achieve net-zero carbon emissions on time, positioning the country as a pioneer in this milestone. In a video conference inaugurating renewable energy development and oil production expansion in East Java, Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s efficiency in energy generation and reducing logistic costs. Energy independence is a crucial part of Indonesia’s vision for national sovereignty, with plans to launch 55 new renewable energy projects, including geothermal power plants, to provide clean and reliable energy throughout the archipelago.

Acknowledging the support from ministries, regulatory bodies, and energy companies like Medco Energi and ExxonMobil, President Prabowo commended their efforts in Indonesia’s energy transformation. While recognizing the country’s significant oil and gas reserves, he stressed the importance of renewable energy, especially solar power, in achieving energy self-sufficiency across Indonesian communities. Prabowo remains optimistic about Indonesia’s future, highlighting solar energy as a source of hope for villages, districts, regencies, and remote islands. By harnessing renewable energy sources, Indonesia can lead the way to a brighter and more sustainable future.
