President Prabowo’s Commitment to Eradicating Poverty

President Prabowo Subianto, in his commitment to uplifting the poor, has established flagship initiatives to address immediate needs and create a path for future generations to escape poverty. Initiatives like Sekolah Rakyat, Kopdes Merah Putih, and MBG, are aimed at restoring dignity to those living in poverty and breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty. Through the Sekolah Rakyat program, the government seeks to disrupt the pattern of children inheriting their parents’ economic struggles, emphasizing education as the key to success.

Eradicating poverty is a core focus of President Prabowo’s administration, with ambitious targets to eliminate extreme poverty by 2026 and reduce the overall national poverty rate to below 5 percent by 2029. This target is part of the national development agenda and will be pursued through social intervention and community empowerment programs. The administration’s “three-pronged strategy” to combat poverty includes the People’s School initiative, Red-and-White Village Cooperatives, and Free Health Checks in Schools.

The Cek Kesehatan Gratis program, focusing on health, has already reached millions of Indonesians and aims to reach even more students by the end of the year. The Red-and-White Village Cooperatives aim to stimulate local economies and foster self-sufficiency by creating new jobs and empowering communities. President Prabowo is set to launch the Kopdes Merah Putih program with the goal of establishing thousands of cooperatives nationwide, offering a model of village empowerment through community strength.

Overall, President Prabowo’s initiatives are focused on providing immediate benefits to the poor and ensuring long-term success in combating poverty in Indonesia.
