jpnn.com, PALEMBANG – Ketua DPD Real Estate Indonesia (REI) Zewwy Salim mengatakan bahwa ia berhasil membangun jaringan bisnis real estate-nya seperti saat ini dengan bantuan modal dari Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN).
Pria yang akrab disapa Ko Awi itu menceritakan bahwa ia mulai merintis bisnis propertinya hanya dengan modal sebesar Rp 30 juta dan kini menjadi salah satu pengembang properti besar di Sumatera Selatan dengan bendera PT Anugrah Wahana Indah (AWI) yang telah membangun 20 ribu unit rumah.
“I started this business at a very young age with only Rp 30 million. At first, I started by becoming a subcontractor by working on house orders from a large developer. Then I got to know BTN and started to dare to build my own developer company in 2001 until now. So if you want to start this business, don’t be afraid if we don’t have a lot of capital,” said Zewwy Salim in front of 250 participants in the BTN Millennial Developer Training entitled “Realizing the Dream of Becoming a Millennial Developer” at the Aston Hotel Palembang, South Sumatra, Friday (24/11).
According to Zewwy, with the current housing backlog in Indonesia reaching 12.7 million units, the opportunity to enter the property business sector is very promising. Moreover, the ratio of the number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia is only 3.7 percent of the total population.
“So the opportunity to become an entrepreneur, especially in the property sector in Indonesia, is still very open. So don’t be afraid to enter this business,” said Zewwy.
He also appreciates BTN’s efforts, which have been regularly holding Millennial Developer Training activities in several cities in Indonesia since 2022.
Zewwy hopes that from the BTN Millennial Developer Training activities, it will be able to produce new developers who can help the government reduce the housing backlog in Indonesia.
Similarly, the Chairman of HIPMI Palembang, Indra Rusadi Harahap, acknowledged the role of BTN in producing young entrepreneurs to become reliable developers.
