Washington, D.C. – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto concluded his official visit to Washington, D.C., emphasizing the importance of collaboration over confrontation.
Prabowo made this statement after meeting with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd James Austin on Wednesday, November 13, at 12:15 p.m. local time.
“We respect all powers, but we will always uphold our sovereignty. However, I choose to seek opportunities for cooperation,” Prabowo remarked.
He emphasized that collaboration strengthens partnerships and mutual respect among nations.
“I believe that collaboration and cooperation are always better than confrontation or conflict,” he stated firmly.
Prabowo highlighted the need for mutual efforts, teamwork, and trust-building to maintain productive relationships with all parties.
“Of course, this requires effort—it won’t happen on its own. There must be efforts to build trust and mutual respect. So, we choose to maintain good relationships with everyone,” he added. (RR)
