Lombok, VIVA – A man in Ampenan, Mataram City, Lombok slammed a 12-year-old child until he fainted. The incident was recorded by a surveillance camera around the scene, on Friday, October 18, 2024.

The 2-minute 12-second video shows the man suddenly chasing children who were playing around the mosque after Friday prayers.
The victim, wearing a black shirt, was seen being caught by the perpetrator. Then quickly the perpetrator grabbed, lifted, and slammed the child to the floor until he fainted. The perpetrator then left the victim lying unconscious.

Realizing that the victim had fainted, the perpetrator came and tried to lift the collar of the victim’s shirt and then released it again. He then left the victim.
The perpetrator then reappeared, lifting the victim and trying to wake up the still weak victim.

The Child Protection Institution (LPA) of Mataram City stepped in to advocate for the case of child abuse. The LPA accompanied the victim and the victim’s parents to undergo a medical examination at the Bhayangkara Hospital in Mataram.
The Chairman of LPA Mataram City, Joko Jumadi, said that children playing around the mosque were chased by the perpetrator. The perpetrator caught a child and slammed him until he fainted.

“After Friday prayers, the children played around the mosque. Then they were chased, lifted, and slammed until they fainted,” he said.
The victim is a child with the initial K who is still in elementary school.
Joko said after Friday prayers, the perpetrator who was on the upper floor of the mosque saw the children on the lower floor. Then the victim asked the perpetrator why he was being looked at.
“The victim asked the perpetrator ‘why are you looking at me’ and suddenly the perpetrator came down,” he said.
The perpetrator then chased the victim and slammed the victim. The reason why the perpetrator slammed the victim until he fainted is still unclear.
Joko said he would help the victim’s parents report the case to the police.
“I think there should be consequences for the perpetrator,” he said.
