Jakarta – Presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, said that in principle, the victory achieved must not hurt others.
He said this when he was a guest on Deddy Corbuzier’s podcast, which aired on the YouTube channel @Deddy Corbuzier, on Tuesday (13/2).
Prabowo then quoted one of the Javanese philosophies, which is ‘Menang tanpo ngasorake’. It means, ‘Winning without degrading’.
He expressed this because he believes that there are still many people who do not care about others, in order to achieve victory/success.
“Sometimes, Western philosophy is somewhat different. Because what I see, Western philosophy emphasizes success. It doesn’t matter how you win, as long as you win,” said Prabowo.
“In order to achieve victory for us, our side, ourselves, our families, (sometimes) we hurt many people. There is a Javanese philosophy, ‘Menang tanpo ngasorake’. ‘Winning without degrading (hurting)’. That is what we must hold on to,” he emphasized.
Prabowo added that with this principle, we will live without grudges against others. This life, he said, must have principles as adhered to by the warriors and knights. They live by holding firm to the values of honesty, justice, and a commitment to help the weak and oppressed parties.
“If in the philosophy of the warrior, my teachers taught me (to) not hold grudges. A warrior is brave. Brave to defend truth, justice, honesty,” he said.
“Defending the weak, the poor, and the oppressed. That is a knight. Defending must be brave, but cannot hate and cannot hold grudges,” concluded Prabowo. (SENOPATI)
